To provide a professional service that strives to meet the varying needs of families through positive partnerships that develop the child in a safe community.
The Service is staffed by caring and experienced workers who possess a wide range of skills and qualifications for working with children that are aged 5 to 12 years. They comprise a varied team, which works collaboratively to create a safe and fun environment.
The staff understand the importance of family when caring for children. They recognize that each family is unique and individual and therefore encourage the families to become actively involved in the care of their children, asking that the parents share important information with the Service.Simple things such as letting the staff know that your child haswon an award or lost a tooth - help the staff make every child feel special.
Families are also encouraged to share any concerns or queries with the staff. The staff also provide an important link to your child's school and often have information from school to pass on to you.Parents are respected for any level of involvement at the Service.
The OOSH Service operates in accordance with the voluntary Code of Practice for Out of School Hours.
We believe children should be encouraged to respect differences and uniqueness in others and community around them.Children are given the opportunity to construct their own knowledge through practical, hands on experiences and to take pride in their achievements. We believe children are social and should be given the opportunity to build cooperative relationships with their peers and with staff.Children are treated as individuals and to be given equal opportunity to have a voice and develop a positive self concept.
We believe the program should be both skill and interest based, developed through a collaborative partnership between staff, children and families. The program is flexible allowing for individuals to make their own confident choices and to negotiate results for the benefit of the group as a whole. The program should be constantly evolving through evaluation of children and staff and the introduction of new and diverse resources. We believe in providing balanced, nutritious and varied meals that meet individual dietary needs of the children at the Service.
Children's health and well being is promoted through staff and children maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. We believe the physical environment provides ample space that allows opportunity for learning and free choice. We believe in providing a safe, nurturing environment that children can have feel they have ownership of.
We believe that the cooperative partnerships between staff, children, families and the community facilitates positive, supportive and trusting relationships.Parental involvement is valued to achieve a continuity of care between the Services, school and home though open and honest communication. We believe it is important for each family's culture, beliefs and values to be respected and celebrated at the Service and should be incorporated into the program.
We believe staff at the Service display mutual respect for each other, acting in a professional manner, as positive role models through their interactions with each other, children and their families.Staff believe in open communication and encourage children to be part of the decision making process that facilitate their interactions and play.Staff and children are encouraged to work together to manage the program and routine to meet collective goals of the Service users.

The staff are very friendly and courteous. I have been using this service for about 4 years now and I don't have a single complaint. The staff genuinely seem to love what they are doing and this makes me feel good as I know my child will be well looked after. I can see this in my child too as she looks forward to going there. On one occasion when I had to find a carer/Long Day Care Centre for my 18mth old baby, I remember how the Coordinator in particular, went out of his way to help me and I'll always be grateful. The programs they have during vacation care are good and keep my child well entertained. Ringrose OOSH is a great service and a reliable one too. Benita Acharya
We believe that open and honest communication is of extreme importance for the whole team - families, staff and children. It is important that we share relevant information with each other, keeping each other updated on your child's well being.
We do this in various ways including general conversation on your child's arrival and departure. Each child has their own journal used to document their experiences throughout the year.Journals provide information for reflection, assessment and planning and they enable meaningful and on-going partnerships between parent and caregiver.Entries are made on a regular basis and families are encouraged to document any experiences about their child in this journal.
The Service has a Day Book which gives daily evaluation of the activities, copies of the newsletters and notes that are issued to families are kept for future reference.
Our program is based on the Emergent Curriculum which provides experiences that will cater for the child's interests and developmental stages. Our program aims to encourage the children to develop their own independence and their confidence, as well as a positive self image of who they are.
We also ensure that children will have opportunities to engage in a wide range of learning experiences covering all the key learning areas assisting the development of the child.Learning experiences include, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, cognitive, dramatic play, sensory experiences, constructive play, music and movement, social, emotional, language development and creativity.
The menu is prepared in accordance to the NSW Health Guidelines.
