At Exploure & Develop we recognise that the attitudes, skills and knowledge developed in a child's early years provide a basis for that child's learning in later years. We believe that in order to develop their highest potential and set this solid foundation, we need to provide an environment that promotes positive attitudes to learning and extends your child in each area of their development.

At Explore & Develop, we believe that children's learning occurs spontaneously on a daily basis and that these spontaneous emerging interests need to be individually extended. Our curriculum/program focuses on respecting these individual interests, uniqueness and developing your child across all areas including their personal and social development, creative and imaginative abilities, language and literacy skills, cognitive and problem solving skills, physical development and coordination.

Our environment is designed to support and facilitate children's learning and development towards many goals across all areas of development; these areas include cognitive, language, social, emotional and physical. We will transition your child through each rooms based on two key factors their overall stage of development and the year you intend to send them to school.

Breakfast, Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late supper are all supplied and nutritionally balanced.

• All bed linen and blankets for sleep/rest time.
• Bucket hat on enrolment and sunscreen
• Face washers, Bibs, Nappy wipes.
• Filtered water throughout the day.

Nappies are not included as we have found parents have varying preferences to the types of nappies used on their child.

• We operate 50 weeks of the year closing for approximately 2 weeks during the Christmas Break when fees are not payable.
• Our educators work closely with parents ensuring continuity between home and our service.
• We ensure a close working relationship with the Department of Community Services and the National Childcare Accreditation Council so that we are able to provide a high level service to you where all safety and regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.

The entire program is geared to the individual needs of your child. It is a busy, active program for learning and is designed to assist the child towards the following personal goals.

• Affective Goals - To express ideas and feelings freely, verbally, and in socially acceptable ways. To explore, to be responsive to beauty in all forms. Respect the rights, property and contributions of other children.
• Physical Goals - Join in games, dances, walks and group activities with adequate physical skill, stamina and control.
• Cognitive Goals - To become task oriented and persist at tasks for reasonable periods. To the understanding of concepts necessary for the continued pursuit of learning.
• Language Skills - To listen, express themselves creatively to use adequate, vocabulary and enjoy books.

Subject areas covered in our programmes are as follows:

• Language - Communication skills, increase vocabulary, story etc
• Mathematics - Concepts of number, shape and measurements etc
• Art & Craft - Painting, construction, collage etc
• Manipulative Play - Play activities - blocks, water play, drama, gross motor
• Music - Singing, playing musical instruments, movement etc
• Social Studies - Focus on the immediate environment, children from other countries etc
• Science - Man and his environment, living things, the universe etc
• Health and Safety - Food and nutrition, the senses, crossing the road etc

School Readiness Program
We have a specific school readiness program for our 3 - 5 year olds. This program is based on preschool readiness curriculum.

For the safety of our children at the centre, we have a card activated security system at our lift entrance.  Ensuring no unauthorized persons enter the Centre during the day!

This giving our families and staff the extra security for a safe and secure environment.
