Each child is allocated a locker and towel hook with a picture symbol. This is their space each time they come to kindy.Each time they come they need to bring with them;
* MORNING TEA - Healthy food only ,in a clearly labelled brown paper bag/container. Some suggestions for a healthy morning tea are fruit, cheese, dried fruits, celery, carrot, etc. NO PEANUT, NUT PRODUCTS, PACKAGED FOOD
*Healthy drink e.g. plain water, sufficient for morning tea and lunch. Clearly labelled and able to be recognized and used by your child.
*LUNCH - Healthy food only in a clearly labelled lunch box. This is to be of the type that your child can open and is small enough to be stored in the refrigerator. Remember healthy food need not be sandwiches.
NO PEANUT , NUT PRODUCTS OR PACKAGED FOOD.
* A BAG (e.g. a backpack style) that your child is able to open and close.
Your child also needs to be able to identify his/her own lunch box, drink bottle.and "big bag".
*SPARE CLOTHES (underwear, shorts, shirts, socks etc) that are CLEARLY LABELLED and reflect the weather. THESE ARE ESSENTIAL, as some children get very distressed if they require a change of clothes that are not theirs.
*A FACE WASHER, CLEARLY LABELLED (with child's name and locker symbol) with a loop or key ring in the top left hand corner. This will stop the towels from touching each other and prevent cross contamination.
*THE WEDNESDAY GROUP ONLY - Rest requirements - one very large beach towel in a drawstring bag CLEARLY LABELLED (with name and locker symbol) and warm covering in cooler weather. Your child also needs to be able to identify bedding bag. NO PLASTIC BAGS.
*A SUN HAT IS TO BE BROUGHT EVERY DAY INCLUDING WINTER
*A SMALL ROLL-ON SUNSCREEN FOR EACH CHILD (LABELLED).
We do not encourage the children to bring toys from home, particularly for "Show & Tell" as they can easily get lost or broken This can be most upsetting for your child.
WHAT TO WEAR
The centre policy is that all children must have their shoulders covered whilst outdoors (i.e. a short sleeve shirt or dress).
Shoes MUST FIT the child's foot (no flip/flops, thongs etc).
Clothing has no "entrapment" ie. decorations that may get caught in equipment.
Super Hero clothing. As the wearing of this type of clothing encourages displays of violence, Kindy requests that this type of clothing IS NOT worn to kindergarten.
